Initiated by MGI members, MGI hosts it's first ever International Audit Seminar

MGI Worldwide's first International Audit Seminar, initiated by Jan Schmeisky and Dr. Michael Grüne from Menold Bezler, Germany, attracted 23 delegates from 18 firms across Europe and the United Kingdom.

Held on 5-6 June in Warsaw, Poland, ahead of the European Conference, this groundbreaking initiative focused on the International Standard on Quality Management (ISQM) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors, featuring engaging case studies.

ISQM 1 & ISQM 2

Notable speakers included Gemma Archer, BA(Hons) BFP FCA, a renowned Technical Consultant, and Lee Eagling, A&A and Compliance Senior Manager from Mercia. They led informative sessions on the process of getting started with ISQM1, performing a risk assessment, and addressing quality risks. Additionally, they covered the first annual review of the quality management system and important considerations for ISQM 2.

ESG

In the ESG session, delegates delved into the International Standard on Sustainability Assurance 5000. They discovered how auditors can provide assurance under this standard and engage in discussions about the role of auditors in addressing ESG matters. Valuable insights and tips were gained for effectively communicating with clients on ESG-related issues.

Following enthusiastic feedback from participants, it was agreed to extend the scope of future editions to include accounting topics.
