Think global, act local
In 2015 the UN set out 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to provide a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. As part of its strategic planning, MGI Alekim LLP has decided to actively support 5 of these goals and to mark this year's #EarthDay, will be championing two of these:
GOAL 13
“Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.”
On 22 April MGI Alekim LLP will be having a print and photocopy-free day in its offices. In addition to this, the firm is planning a tree planting day at the nearby Ngong Forest Sanctuary.
GOAL 17
“Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalise global partnerships for sustainable development.”

Help MGI Alekim LLP take action - partner with themTo acquire a single seedling and nurture it for 3 years costs Kshs. 450 (less than $4 USD). The firm is hoping to raise enough money to plant 5000 trees in different locations. The more the firm and its supporters raise, the more they can plant! Our network leads the way
MGI Worldwide is the first global accounting network to be awarded ESGmark certification and as such we actively look for ways to minimise our impact on the environment.
To help offset our carbon footprint following the recent Talent Meeting held in Amsterdam, MGI UK & Ireland will be contributing to MGI Alekim’s tree planting initiative this Friday, by sponsoring the planting of 100 trees.
Paul Winder, Regional Coordinator for MGU UK & Ireland comments:

"It is important that as an ESGmark certified organisation, we actively look for opportunities to offset the impact we have on the environment. We are just starting out on this journey, but know that each little step counts. In recognition of members travel from the MGI UK & Ireland region to the recent Talent Meeting in The Netherlands, we have been looking for appropriate carbon offsetting projects. We are therefore delighted to be supporting Felix and MGI Alekim LLP with their great tree-planting project and have asked them to plant 100 trees on our behalf." |
